Dan Piersol
Dan Piersol received his MA and MFA from Bowling Green State University in his native Ohio.
Throughout his three decades as a museum professional – notably as Deputy Director for Programs at the Mississippi museum of Art and the Doris Zemurray Stone Curator of Prints and Drawings at the New Orleans Museum of Art – Dan continued to work as a visual artist. His exhibition history includes solo shows in New Orleans at the Contemporary Arts Center, Still-Zinsel Gallery, Cole Pratt Gallery, Mario Villa Gallery; as well as Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was the recipient of a Southern Arts Federation/National Endowment for the Arts grant.
Piersol's work is in the permanent collections of the Birmingham Museum of Art, New Orleans Musuem of Art, Lulu and Paul Hillard Art Museum at the University of Louisiana/Lafayette, and the Fine Arts Museum of Western Carolina University.
