Matthew Puckett

It’s hard to imagine that the stoic tones of Mathew Puckett’s work pour from such a relatively young hand – or that he’s already received such well-deserved critical praise. His larger-than-life, darkly impressionistic portraits thoroughly explore mood through texture. Puckett’s work won the praise of Newsweek’s Peter Plagens in the Mississippi Museum of Art’s 2009 Mississippi Invitational. And we expect many more great pieces, as Mathew just enrolled in the MFA program at the Memphis College of Art.
