Charlie Buckley graduated summa cum laude from Ole Miss in 2004 with a BFA in painting, and was awarded a Taylor Medal by the University. After operating as an independent artist for 3 years in Oxford, he was offered a Graduate Assistantship in the MFA program at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, graduating in 2009. After returning to Mississippi, Charlie taught in the Art Department at Mississippi State, and eventually returned to painting full-time in 2010. Along withFischer Galleries in Jackson, he is represented by Southside Gallery in Oxford, and The Arts Company in Nashville. In 2010 he was awarded a Visual Arts Fellowship by the Mississippi Arts Commission, and continues to paint the urban and rural landscapes of the region. He currently lives with his family in Tupelo.
